Touhou(東方Project)

はい、こんにちわ。此れからは東方です!
And Yes, I mean Touhou Project from Team Shanghai Alice.
Its is one of the best doujin game that I ever tried before. Do you still remember the game called sonic wings? If you do, you will find it pretty familiar to the picture I posted. If you are a total noob about, and don't know what is, Touhou, what I can say is that Touhou is a very similar game with sonic wings. But without a doubt Touhou is a much better game than Sonic Wings. As of below, I would describe or rather review on this game Touhou, particularly 東方地霊殿(Touhou ~Subterranean Animism~). This review is purely mine and my own opinion about this game so don't go all "!@#$ you" and stuff like that, everyone has different views and likes for games, I'm studying in this field so I understand this very well and would like you to understand too.
These are some of the screen captures I've done, not really much because I keep forgetting to do this because it was too addictive. If you scroll through it you would actually see that the in-game graphics are pretty sweet as in the bullets are like fireworks, don't you think so? As you can see, at different locations, you get different amount of bullet to dodge, but those bullets come spamming at you in a very nicely layout pattern. This makes it interesting, its a feast for your eyes and at the same time makes your life easier to dodge it by observing the pattern. Next, Touhou, unlike Sonic Wings, have fabulous backgrounds and background musics(aka bgm). The backgrounds are just so nicely done and although its so unrealistic to have such terrains, but who cares? There's fighting shrine maidens and bullet spamming bosses, so what's the big deal about having unrealistic backgrounds. It all just goes so well together, and mixing in the bgm, (although also looping and there's like only one bgm, but it is just so appealing to the ears) the game just seems so fantasy like.

As for the game play wise, it might seems a little stupid if you don't really like shoot'em up games, but apparently, if you start playing it you might just get addicted to this kind of little fun. (like someone I know, who still carries my laptop with both his hands and continues playing it even there's a fire drill where we were evacuating the campus, climbing down the stairs four floor high. No offense though.) Well, I'm not sure if you agree with this, playing Touhou actually trains yours eyes to look for patterns and strengthens your observation?

Touhou actually had quite a pretty long history, although they did not started off with this game concept but the improvements just make players goes wow. The games where pixels and you can see it very clearly in the early version but making its way to version 4, graphics changed and now it looks all nice. To see a much in-depth history of Touhou, you can visit here, it's in English so you could understand it.

Now after looking through, would you still prefer Sonic Wings or Touhou? If you want to play it, but you don't have the installation, you might consider trying the demo releases located here.  ダウンロード(体験版、アップデートパッチ) Just select a version and click on then select a mirror,  and oh remember to update your direct X driver before you attempt to play it, if not you might get an error sometimes. Or get a copy of the latest version of Touhou during ComicKet in Tokyo (which I think not many would try if you are living overseas like me.) So that's all for today, over and out...
